They were aspirational, they were confrontational, they were innovative.The era of Gorbachev, Reagan and Thatcher, when Yuppies with their brick-sized mobile phones proclaimed 'Greed was good'. We drove to see Top Gun in our Sierra Cosworth on the newly completed M25 listening to Dire Straits on CD. Big hair, shoulder pads and leg warmers dominated, but whether power dressing or in a shell suit, it was all about Dallas, Diana & Duran Duran. Technology like VCR’s and microwaves were improving home life, and we had computers – but we weren't glued to them.
